The Pen and The Postcard

The Pen and The Postacard is a collaboration with artist Scott Brown. The audience was asked to write a postcard from the Electrofringe Festival with a novelty sized pencil covered with electronic sensors.

We wanted to explore the ridiculous side of technological innovation in our everyday lives and the intrussive nature of gathering data. The pencil itself was nearly impossible to use.

The data gathered from the pencil was fed back to the writer through light and sound. The postcards were posted by the artists after the show and GPS logged on a website once they were QR scanned by the receivers.
